The crowning career achievement of my life was serving as the founding and executive director of the Women’s Business Center of NoVA where, over an eleven year period we trained over 22,000 primarily low income women in how to start and grow their own businesses. I left Northern VA in 2011 to move to Berkeley, CA to be with the love of my life who I met on a cruise. While I worked as an SVP for a non-profit out there for a while, she really wanted me to retire and travel the world with her. Ah, the rough life!

We traveled extensively and had a fabulous time, got married, and then tragically she was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. I kept her alive for 16 more months, while also caring for her sweet 90 year old blind and diabetic mom who lived in a little cottage behind our home, and supporting the four children she adopted at birth, who were 23-37 years old at that time. I stayed in Berkeley for 9 months after she passed, but it was just too sad, so I returned to the East Coast in 2015 to be closer to my family who are spread between Provincetown, MA and Raleigh, NC. I decided to live in Durham, near my sister and step-mom in Raleigh, and just two hours from my mom and oldest son - who has since had my first two biological grandbabies. My partner, Sherrill, and I live just a couple miles from both Duke and UNC Chapel Hill.

Many of you will remember my dad, Bob Wrigley, who may have been your football coach, or physics teacher, or who you may have known from Overlee Pool. Sadly, he passed away from Parkinson's Disease in 2009.

Although I have a masters in Organization Development, I decided to go back to school - to the Gestalt Int'l Study Center on Cape Cod, to get certified as a life coach in 2017. I specialize in working with clients undergoing major life transitions - retirement, moving past the death of a partner, starting a business, changing careers, getting divorced, etc. It is rich, wonderful work that suits me well. I just do it part time, and enjoy camping, gardening, throwing dinner parties and playing with our grandbabies. My partner, Sherrill, loves to fix anything and everything and keeps our lives fun.
